West 4th has four big sale moments a year: Black Friday at the end of November, Boxing Day and Boxing Week after Christmas, and the season-end edits in January and July. Here's when they fall and how to make the most of them.

Many stores start their offers a week or more ahead and run them through the weekend to Cyber Monday (November 30).
Boxing Day

Sales often continue as “Boxing Week” until the New Year. Check opening hours: some stores open late or close on December 26.
January season-end

Early January 2027

Winter stock is cleared to make room for spring. Discounts usually deepen as the month goes on, but sizes sell out.
July season-end

Early July 2027

Summer stock is cleared for fall. Can coincide with the Khatsahlano Street Party, when many stores set up sidewalk displays.

How to shop the sales

Go early on the first day for the best choice of sizes, especially at fashion and footwear stores.
Check each store's website or social accounts the week before. Many announce dates and discounts in advance, and some start online first.
Ask about returns: sale items often have shorter return windows or are final sale.
Plan a route. The sale stores are all within a few blocks of each other, so build an itinerary and walk it in order.

Last year's example

In 2025, Mine & Yours ran its biggest sale of the year from November 17 to 30, with up to 80% off designer items in its Kitsilano store and online. Expect similar timing this year, but check with each store, as offers change every year.
